Meet Jill & Matt. Let me give you a little background on the bride that this suite is designed for. Jill was the person that propelled my love of paper. Prior to Jill, my creative outlet was limited to wimpy drawings on paper. Along with being official best friend, Jill was the one that introduced me to the world of beading, scrapbooking, card making & stamping. It was Jill, her mother, and her sisters that launched me into this mecca which I cultivate to grow and make my own.
Now Jill’s getting married to Matt (who also went to school for design!). So when they gave me the greenlight to help design a suite, I took to the task of creating something that would reflect Jill & Matt’s endless style and personality.
I think Jill’s always known that when she got married, she’d want to do it at her family’s lake home where she spent most of her childhood growing up and vacationing. Her family’s lake home is located on a small island in the middle of a large lake, just over an hour outside of the Twin Cities, on Mille Lacs. So we decided to title this a “destination wedding,” by drawing a map of the island with directions to be included with each set.
What’s an island without a treasure map? So I took some liberties and added a pirate ship off the coast. Can you locate the treasure chest?

Taking it one step further, we brainstormed a guest book on CANVAS with the island treasure map so wedding guests can sign their names and place themselves all over the island! Keepsake Huzzah!

Jill told me she would be carrying sunflowers on her wedding day. Sunflowers, I learned, will turn to face the sun as it moves throughout the day, following it as it sets in the West. Cool right?! So obvi, we decided to place sunflowers in the invitation itself. We chose Envelopment’s yellow bloom pattern[brand new and perfect timing!] in a pocket to contain the invite, rsvp and treasure map insert. The entire set is wrapped with a custom vellum band, complete with a sunflower. The envelope mailers contain a green liner in the same pattern.

Jill & Matt’s wedding is a two-day event and the RSVP postcard was designed to allow guests to pick and choose which events they would be attending… including the After Party of s’mores and fireworks!

That it’s folks! Ruby Red, Mustard Yellow, Lime Green… we have Jill & Matt’s wedding suite. Perfect for a lake house summer wedding, right? Take a closer look with the sideshow of this complete set:
Stay tuned for Part 2…when we’ll unveil the Thank You’s, Favors and a couple other surprising touches!
